At Aberdeen University, 304 people were caught plagiarising coursework, including 69 this year, while 49 cheated during exams.The successful cheating occurs with adult help from corrupt examiners who also teach and use the inside knowledge to benefit their students.The scale of this is unknown but recently some evidence has emerged.With the Eton and Winchester cases when the fraud was exposed one teacher was asked to resign and another was given retirement.Neither faced legal consequences, nor did their colleagues who used the information.
